Staff Dermatologist
Dr. Julia is an upstate NY native who first pursued her love of singing at Indiana University in Bloomington as a vocal performance major before her love of horses pulled her back to veterinary medicine. She graduated from the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012 followed by a large animal rotating internship at the University of Georgia. She then worked as a mixed small and large animal general practitioner for several years before returning to Cornell to complete her dermatology residency in 2017. She became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology in 2019. After completing her residency, Dr. Julia stayed on at Cornell as an assistant clinical professor in the section of Dermatology where she was awarded the Zoetis Distinguished Teacher Award. Dr. Julia has a special interest in the management of chronic otitis externa, and all things related to large animal skin disease (especially horses).
Outside of work, Dr. Julia enjoys her lovable bully dogs, riding horses, and singing whenever possible. She also loves providing continuing education to veterinarians and owners because derm is absolutely the best! She is excited to return to the warmer weather to help keep the pets happy and healthy in Kentucky.
