Dr. Drake decided to become a veterinarian at age 5 and never let the goal out of sight until she graduted from veterinary school. Her drive to own her own practice came from her mission to provide the best care for pets and best service for clients. In 1992, Dr. Drake purchased Westlake Veterinary Clinic and later San Dieguito Veterinary Hospital. These practices merged to form The Drake Center for Veterinary Care in 1998. Dr. Drake has surrounded herself with other doctors and staff who have that same passion for caring. "The people in this building make The Drake Center the very special place it is to bring your pet."
Dr. Drake’s personal dedication to community service is strongly reflected in her veterinary practice. Under her leadership, The Drake Center has focused on strengthening the human-animal bond alongside local non-profit organizations such as Rancho Coastal Humane Society, Good Dog! Autism Companions and the FACE Foundation.
Dr. Drake has been a longtime member of the board of directors at the Magdalena Ecke YMCA in Encinitas and has also acted as an advisor for several professional associations, including the American Animal Hospital Association and UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.
In addition, she has worked as a speaker and consultant for veterinary pharmaceutical companies and practice groups across the country.
Dr. Drake is the mother of two boys. She also has one dog, Wilbur, and two cats, Max and Ruby.
