Dr. DeNicola currently serves as the Chief Veterinary Educator for IDEXX Laboratories, helping develop various educational opportunities for Veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians in addition to serving a 25% commitment to pathology service. He received his DVM degree in 1978 and a PhD degree in 1981 from Purdue University, where he worked as a veterinary clinical pathologist and director of the Veterinary Clinical Pathology Laboratory and Clinical Pathology Residency Program until September 2002. Dr. DeNicola was an instructor in veterinary clinical pathology and surgical pathology from 1979-2002. During Dr. DeNicola's term at Purdue University, he received all possible teaching awards and recognitions as well as various service awards associated with the clinical pathology laboratory activities. He has been an invited speaker to more than 150 national and international educational symposia for parasitology Veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians and has authored or coauthored more than 120 refereed articles, book chapters, and books. In addition to being the primary service pathologist for diagnostic cytology and surgical pathology requests in the Veterinary Clinical Pathology Laboratory at Purdue prior to 2002, Dr. DeNicola ran a private pathology service with four other pathologists, providing diagnostic cytology and surgical pathology services to practicing Veterinarians.
