Large differences in non-core vaccines rates for CIRD pathogens exist even in similar geographic regions within the United States, for example, median vaccine rates are 69% for Bordetella bronchiseptica and 5% for canine influenza virus. When disease risk is underestimated, patients are left unprotected against potentially preventable diseases. This lecture will examine issues surrounding vaccine recommendations as well as review standardized protocols for treatment of CIRD.
Learning Objectives:
Explain reasons for differences in non-core vaccine rates for CIRD pathogens
