Phenobarbital is the most commonly used antiseizure medication. However, with newer medications being introduced into veterinary medicine, shifting away from this medication due to fears of side effects and toxicities, may have ramifications for the long term therapeutic success of our patients with epilepsy. The aim of this talk is to make phenobarbital a less feared antiseizure medication, and highlights the benefits of choosing this anti seizure medication.
