SA203 - A Patient Safety Event Occurred! What's Next?

Learning Objectives:

• Upon completion, the participant will be able to work through reporting a patient safety event avoiding blame. They will understand the concept of root cause analysis and develop a consistent process to help prevent future risks associated with the event.
• Upon cmpletion, the participant will be able to use a fishbone diagram to work through a safety or adverse event. They will identify how to narrow down their focus on 3 specific tasks that can prevent an event from occuring in the future.
• Upon completion, the participant will be able identify the seven steps in working through root cause analysis to utilze when an event occurs.
