This session will include a brief overview of calcium homeostasis, with a heavier focus on diagnostic test selection and interpretation of "vitamin D" and "malignancy" profiles in hypercalcemic dogs. Basic treatment principles will also be introduced.

Understand the actions of the major hormones involved in calcium and phosphorus regulation
Be able to prioritize differentials for hypercalcemia based on clinical and laboratory test results
Be able to interpret the results of commonly utilized malignacy and Vitamin D profiles
Be able to select appropriate treatments for hypercalcemia
