This presentation will guide attendees through the practical implementation of telehealth into clinical practice. Teletriage provides confirmation that an animal does need to be brought to the clinic for a physical examination or reassurance that the concern is such that it may be okay to wait a day or two for the animal to be seen. Telemedicine improves access to care that may otherwise be impeded by geography, financial concerns, transportation issues, and/or environmental/weather conditions. Tools of telehealth can also support vital connections during a disaster. We will discuss “webside manner,” consults with specialists, and remote monitoring of patients, and practical case examples will be shared

Know how integrating telehealth into their veterinary practice can improve continuity of care, efficiency, and practice success
Cite practical examples of the various types of telehealth services
Understand how communication needs differ when practicing using telehealth as compared with in-person visits (i.e., patient/client-side manner as compared with webside manner)
