This session will cover pertinent anatomical features associated with the guinea pig reproductive tract. Common diseases of both sexes will be discussed, as well as their diagnostics, treatments, and preventative measures. Castration and ovariectomy procedures will be discussed for the species.

Learning Objectives:

Participants will be able to recall the common diseases of female guinea pigs, including diagnostics, treatment, and prevention.
Participants will be able to recall the common diseases of male guinea pigs, including diagnostics, treatment, and prevention.
Participants will gain confidence in abdominal and scrotal castration procedures in guinea pigs.
Participants will gain confidence in an ovariectomy procedure in guinea pigs.
