How to effectively and efficiently collect semen from bulls. Electroejaculation is the most common method of semen collection for bull breeding soundness evaluation, however, it is often perceived negatively. Electroejaculation equipment and techniques have evolved! A discussion of gentle, “watching the bull”, electroejaculation will be provided as well as how to teach this to others. This presentation will also include information on how to properly handle and assess the semen sample including how to assess sperm motility and how to prepare a good quality semen smear every time, or at least most of the time. Questions and comments from the audience are welcome; especially, tips and tricks you use in your practice.
