In this session we will briefly review the pathogenesis of Bovine Pulmonary Hypertension (Bovine High Mountain Disease, Brisket disease) as well as discuss the uprising of the occurrence of Bovine Cardiac Death most commonly associate with feedlot death near the slaughter period at low elevations. We will also discuss the future of PAP testing and the new PAP EPD put out by the American Angus Association and other groups. The last topic will be focus on new identification factors associate with the prevalence of cardiac death Such as genomic testing, inflammatory markers and the newest research taking place. Why is heart failure becoming such a concern in cattle at all elevations.
