This is an interactive case discussion session where audience members will be presented with clinical cases and have the opportunity to participate by indicating their diagnostic and treatment plans. After this session, attendees will be able to: (1) Stage canine heart disease using history and diagnostic imaging and recognize medical therapies recommended at each stage; (2) Develop an index of suspicion for CHF vs. primary respiratory disease based on history and physical examination findings; (3) Create diagnostic and treatment plans for dogs with stage B2 (advanced preclinical) myxomatous mitral valve disease or dilated cardiomyopathy; and (4) Create diagnostic and treatment plans for dogs with congestive heart failure.
