Learning Objectives / Objectifs d'apprentissage:

At the end of this session participants will be able to / Au terme de cette conférence, vous serez:

explain the echocardiographic appearance of common unrepaired congenital heart lesions, including valvular, sub/supra valvular lesions and shunt lesions;
differentiate between “normal” and “abnormal” imaging parameters in repaired and unrepaired congenital heart lesions of moderate complexity; and
describe the stepwise approach to echocardiographic assessment of suspected intracardiac shunts.

Workshop Description: The number of adults with congenital heart disease continues to rise and many of these patients are first assessed and imaged by general cardiologists. It is increasingly recognized that general cardiologists need to gain experience in adult congenital heart disease imaging but the opportunities remain scant. This workshop aims to address this limited knowledge via a highly interactive format. Building upon previous workshops this session will be 45 minutes long. Each speaker will be given 7 minutes to work through a case, that will focus on recognition of key imaging findings in adult congenital heart echocardiography, with audience participation. Cases will be presented from across Canada by adult congenital cardiologists and cardiology trainees
