Learning Objectives / Objectifs d'apprentissage:

At the end of this session participants will be able to / Au terme de cette conférence, vous serez:

identify treatment algorithms in patients suffering from ischemic LV dysfunction using modern therapeutics and literature;
determine the best revascularization strategy in complex coronary artery disease patients (medium-high SYNTAX score) in 2023;
recognize appropriate patients and clinical indications for TEER in 2023;
develop a clear understanding of current controversies and future directions for TEER as a therapeutic entity in the modern structural landscape; and
recognize the importance of the Heart Team approach in complex coronary disease, ischemic LV dysfunction, and structural intervention.

Workshop Description: The annual Tales & Mysteries from the Cath Lab session will highlight relevant and critical topics that apply to the entire cardiovascular community in Canada. This year, we will have two unique sessions covering both coronary and structural categories that are applicable to general, imaging, and interventional cardiologists. Our first area of discussion will focus on revascularization strategies in patients suffering from complex coronary disease and ischemic LV dysfunction. This topic was selected given emerging data that questions our current practices suggesting an aggressive PCI or surgical approach may not necessarily be the right option. Our second topic will focus on current thoughts, ongoing controversies, and future directions pertaining to Transcatheter Edge to Edge Repair (TEER) in mitral and tricuspid intervention. With a rapidly evolving experience, emerging data, and varying practices worldwide, TEER remains at the forefront of cardiology, and bringing a timely Canadian perspective is crucial. Both topics will be delivered by world-class speakers and individuals who focus their practice in each respective field. The format of the workshop will allow for ample time in between presentations and, in the end, time for questions, discussion, and debate. A diverse panel will be available to dissect topics in further detail and provide additional unique insights throughout the workshop. The Tales & Mysteries session aims to challenge the Canadian cardiology community and remain a premier workshop at the Canadian Cardiovascular Congress and Vascular meeting in 2023.
