Learning Objectives / Objectifs d'apprentissage:

At the end of this session participants will be able to / Au terme de cette conférence, vous serez:

appraise recent evidence supporting percutaneous tricuspid valve repair in patients with right-sided heart failure;
discuss recent advances in the management of pulmonary hypertension;
describe approaches to management of diuretic resistance and cardio-renal syndrome in patients with right heart failure;
summarize important considerations in imaging of the right ventricle in heart failure; and
identify key management considerations in the Stage D heart failure patient with predominant right heart failure, including the patient with cardiac cirrhosis.

Session Description: Though receiving less attention than the left ventricle, the right ventricle plays a crucial role in cardiac performance and when it fails, can be extraordinarily challenging to manage. Fortunately, our understanding of this neglected chamber continues to evolve and recent evidence has enabled more nuanced management of right heart failure. In this workshop, presenters will provide quick snapshots of the state-of-the-art knowledge around a variety of topics related to right-sided heart failure, including pulmonary hypertension, tricuspid regurgitation, cardio-renal syndrome, cardiac cirrhosis, management of stage D right heart failure, and imaging of the right ventricle in heart failure.

Presentations will include:
1. Tackling tricuspid regurgitation – where do we go from here?
2. The PH is really the problem – how do I tackle that?
3. What to do when the kidneys won’t cooperate – diuretic resistance and cardiorenal syndrome in right heart failure
4. Take another look – everyday imaging of the right ventricle
5. Trajectory check – options for advanced right heart failure and management of cardiac cirrhosis

The audience will be engaged throughout the workshop with polling questions, through the audience response system. The session will conclude with an eighteen minute panel discussion and audience Q&A session.
