Learning Objectives / Objectifs d'apprentissage:

At the end of this session participants will be able to / Au terme de cette conférence, vous serez:

discuss the current evidence and epidemiology on the heart-brain connection;
describe the lived experience of managing multiple conditions involving the heart and brain;
explore the emerging research and clinically relevant issues and gaps related to heart-brain connections; and
identify ways healthcare professionals and people with heart and brain conditions can be involved in research and advocacy.

Session Description: This session brings together the two research teams that have been awarded Heart & Stroke/Brain Canada Heart-Brain Connection Impact grants. The session will provide key information about the connection between heart and brain, current research landscape, PWLE perspective, and applications for clinical practice. Specifically, the speakers will describe the lived experience of managing conditions involving the heart and brain, discuss the current evidence and epidemiology on the heart-brain connection, explore the emerging research and clinically relevant issues and gaps related to heart-brain connections and their implications to patient care. This will be relevant to all participants across the vascular community.
