Dr. Joao Amaral is a Professor of Radiology at the University of Toronto and a Pediatric Interventional Radiologist at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.
Dr. Amaral graduated from the Federal University of Parana - Brazil in 1996 and completed his Radiology residency at the same institution in 2000. He then completed fellowships in Pediatric Radiology and Pediatric Interventional Radiology at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. He is currently the Division Head of Pediatric IR at the Image Guided Therapy Centre, the Women’s Auxiliary Chair in Image Guided Care and the co-chair for the Image Guided Care Centre at the Hospital for Sick Children
Dr. Amaral’s areas of special interest include the diagnosis and management of vascular malformations, renovascular disease, genito-urinary and gastrointestinal interventions, lymphatic interventions, and MR guided procedures.
