Sean Hardiman is a PhD candidate in population and public health in the School of Population and Public Health at The University of British Columbia (UBC). He has a Master of Health Administration from UBC and a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from the University of Victoria. Sean is a Certified Health Executive through the Canadian College of Health Leaders and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Professionally, Sean is the Executive Director for Laboratory Medicine, Medical Imaging, and Medication Systems at Island Health (Victoria, BC, Canada), where he provides executive leadership to operations across Vancouver Island. Prior to his role at Island Health, Sean was the Provincial Clinical Director for Coronary Revascularization, Structural Heart, and Advanced Heart Failure Services at Cardiac Services BC (CSBC). While at CSBC, he was responsible for the province-wide planning, funding, access and quality of tertiary cardiac services including the full scope of cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology. Sean has held previous senior level roles in operations and program management at Fraser Health (Surrey, BC) and Northern Health (Prince George, BC). He also worked clinically for fifteen years a primary care paramedic in communities throughout BC with the BC Ambulance Service.
