Dr. Rowe is currently the Scientific Director of the Institute of Circulatory and Respiratory Health (ICRH) at CIHR. He completed his undergraduate degree at Queen’s University and then completed his MD at the University of Ottawa. Following Family and Emergency Medicine training at the University of Ottawa, he then pursued his passion for research during a graduate degree at McMaster University. He joined the University of Alberta in 1997 where he is now a Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine and the School of Public Health. Dr. Rowe has had a long-standing interest in evidence generation in clinical research involving therapy and diagnosis. During his research career he has focused on cardio-respiratory conditions, injury, neurological presentations and operational issues in the emergency setting. He has published 595 peer-reviewed manuscripts and 36 books chapters. In addition to maintaining a productive research program, he is also committed to building the next generation of researchers.
