Dr Jeannot Potvin obtained his MD degree in 2002 and completed his cardiology training in 2008 at the University of Montreal. He subsequently undertook a 3 year Interventional Cardiology fellowship at the Centre Hospitalier de l’Universite de Montreal (CHUM) and at Monash Medical Centre, Melbourne, Australia. In addition to the treatment of coronary disease, he specialises in transcatheter approaches to structural heart disease including aortic, mitral and tricuspid valves, atrial shunts, left atrial appendage occlusion as well as hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy. He is also actively involved in animal and clinical development of emerging technologies in the fields of valvular disease and cardio-renal support. He currently practices at the CHUM and acts as co-director of the structural interventional program and medical director of the cardiac intensive care unit.
