David Szalay MD, MEd., RVT, FRCSC : Dr. David Szalay is a Vascular Surgeon at St. Michael's Hospital and Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Toronto. He is a graduate of the Temerty School of Medicine (MD) and the Ontario Insitute for Studies in Education (MEd) at the University of Toronto. Dr. Szalay is interested and actively involved in medical / surgical education and quality improvement with numerous past and current leadership roles at a local, provincial and national level. He has participated in and lead research and clinical initiatives related to optimizing medical management in vascular surgical practice including serving as the National Lead (Canada) for the Voyager PAD trial. Dr. Szalay was the project lead and first author for the most recent Canadian best practice guidelines for the management of chronic venous disease (2022) and was a co-author (surgical section) for the Canadian Cardiovascular Society 2022 Guidelines for Peripheral Arterial Disease.
