Deyne Borgia-Ellis graduated with her first Undergraduate Degree from the University of British Columbia in 2009. She then worked for various not-for-profit organizations until the completion of her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Dalhousie University in 2018. She is currently in a Master's of Social Work program at the University of Calgary. Deyne has worked in ICUs, Emergency Departments, and in-patient acute care units for the past five and a half years. Deyne is currently the social worker for the in-patient Cardiology and Cardiac Short Stay Units at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, SK.
Deyne also works as a sessional instructor for the University of Saskatchewan's College of Medicine where she teaches ethics and communications seminars to first and second year medical students.
In addition to her work in Health Services, Deyne has her own private practice where she works with individuals dealing with trauma, mental health issues, and grief as well as with couples. Deyne is trainied in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, The Gottman Method, Psychological First Aid, trauma-informed care, Strength-based/Solutions-focused Therapy and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy.
