Michelle Chrisp has been a community-based Diabetes Nurse Educator in Winnipeg for the past 20 years. After graduating from nursing in 2000, Michelle joined the team at Youville Diabetes Centre where she worked for eleven years with adults affected by type 1 and type 2 diabetes. It was there that she developed a special interest in insulin pump technology. Michelle currently works as a part-time diabetes educator and Certified Pump Trainer in the endocrinology office at Winnipeg Clinic. In 2021 she joined Dr. Jennifer Yamamoto’s Research team at the University of Manitoba and is currently working on CIRCUIT, a study designed to assess if Control IQ technology improves blood sugar control, reduces episodes of low blood sugar, decreases burden of diabetes self-care and partner diabetes distress, and results in healthier pregnancies and children for women with type 1 diabetes.
