Gord Gubitz is a Professor of Medicine (Neurology) at Dalhousie University.

He has been involved in assessing and providing Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) to eligible patients since the federal legislation legalizing MAID was passed in 2016. He is the Clinical Lead for MAiD in Nova Scotia and is involved in MAID-related research, and education for medical learners (undergraduate to post-graduate) as well as for other health professionals and the general public. Gord is a Board Member of the Canadian Association of Medical Assessors and Providers (CAMAP) and sits on their Education Committee. He also chairs an ongoing CAMAP-led national project that is developing and implementing a standardized educational curriculum to improve how MAiD skills are taught in Canada (https://camapcanada.ca/curriculum/)
When not at work, Dr. Gubitz enjoys Italian food, baking, perfect Manhattans, and Broadway musicals. He is a big fan of the Oxford comma, and is in complete denial about his job-related stress. He is not very fond of cats.
