Samier Kamar is the pharmacist, manager, and owner at two independent pharmacies, caring for approximately 4,000 patients. He was a Professor in the Registered Pharmacy Technician program at the School of Health and Wellness, Fleming College, in Peterborough. He was also a faculty member, as the clinical instructor, lead for medication therapy management courses, at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Toronto. Samier is a PharmD graduate from the University of Toronto. His interest in finding innovative ways to serve his patients and community led him to be an early adopter of the telemedicine platform in Ontario pre COVID as well as one of the first in Ontario to gain access to Connecting Ontario through the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care as part of the initial pilot program. Samier is also heavily engaged in health advocacy work with refugees and Canadian newcomers, along with unattached patients, working to ensure that they can better navigate and access health services and prevent them from slipping through the cracks of our healthcare system, leading him to receive a national business innovation award. Samier is an active writer for the Canadian healthcare network.ca, sharing clinical practice cases and pearls to a national group of physicians and pharmacists with open discussions.
