William is a cardiologist and a native of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. He completed Medical School and Internal Medicine Residency at Queen’s University. He completed Adult Cardiology Residency at the University of Manitoba.
William is enrolled in the Clinician Investigator Program at McMaster University. He is completing clinical training in arrhythmia and a PhD Health Research Methods. He holds fellowship awards from Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and the Canadian Stroke Prevention Intervention Network (C-SPIN). He holds research grants from the Canadian Cardiovascular Society (CCS) Atrial Fibrillation Awards Program and the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
William has published over75 peer-reviewed articles. His current research program is investigating recurrence rates of Atrial Fibrillation Occurring Transiently with Stress (AFOTS). His research interests include atrial fibrillation – including screening and detection, cardiac devices and methods in randomized clinical trials.
William was the 2018 Recipient of the CCS Trainee Excellence in Education Award. He currently serves as the trainee representative to CCS Council.
He lives in Hamilton with his wife Kelsey and his dog Roary.
