Cardiac Electrophysiologist

Dr. Michael James Thibert is originally from Thunder Bay, Ontario where he completed an Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology Degree at Lakehead University and undergraduate medical education at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine. He then went to Vancouver to complete Internal Medicine and Cardiology Training at University of British Columbia where he served as Chief Internal Medicine Resident and Chief Cardiology Resident. He completed a two-year Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute where served as Chief Electrophysiology Fellow and was the Member-in-Training Representative for the CHRS. He was also the recipient of the Vered-Beanlands Clinical Research Fellowship. He has recently started an Electrophysiology position at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, British Columbia and is the Early Career Representative for the CHRS. His clinical and research interests include diagnosis and treatment of complex ventricular arrhythmias including premature ventricular complexes and ventricular tachycardia. Outside of medicine, he is most proud to be a father of two daughters Elizabeth and Josephine, ages 4 and 1.
