Lead, Engagement and Stroke Strategy

M. Patrice Lindsay is currently the Lead for Engagement and Stroke Strategy at the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. Dr. Lindsay leads strategic directions for health systems design and change for people with stroke and heart conditions across Canada and internationally. She develops innovative knowledge translation and implementation initiatives that bridge, integrate, and support the needs and interests of people living with these conditions and their families. She is the senior editor for the Canadian Stroke Best Practice Guidelines and performance measurement standards, and a founding leader and co-author of the World Stroke Organization global stroke guidelines and roadmap. She is involved in several research initiatives and has coauthored numerous peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Lindsay is a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal for her efforts to improve stroke care and outcomes in Canada and internationally. Dr. Lindsay has a degree in nursing from the University of Western Ontario and completed her PhD in Health Services Research, Evaluation and Outcomes at the University of Toronto.
