Dr. Johri is a Professor at Queens University having completed Level III Echo Training at MGH, Harvard University. He received the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s career award and founded the Cardiovascular Imaging Network at Queen’s (CINQLab.com). The CINQ has 3 areas of focus: 1) vascular ultrasound for the earlier detection and prevention of cardiovascular disease, 2) innovation in point of care ultrasound (POCUS) quality and teaching, and 3) understanding and prevention of sudden cardiac death in the athlete. Dr. Johri was recently awarded a multi-center CIHR for assessing the efficacy of stress echo enhanced by carotid ultrasound and intraplaque neovascularization (CIRCE Trial). He also holds a CIHR Priority Announcement multi-center grant to assess the implementation of Tele-POCUS teaching in geographically remote regions across Canada (ARCTICA), supported by the CMA and CCS Covid-19 Challenge for Canada Award. Dr. Johri has over 130 peer-reviewed publications, including several in the area of artificial intelligence and machine learning. He has chaired numerous guidelines including American Society of Echocardiography’s Carotid Plaque Quantification Guideline, the ASE Statement on the Use of POCUS for COVID-19, and Canada’s first guideline for the cardiovascular screening of athletes. Dr. Johri currently serves as Treasurer of the CSE Executive Board and is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography where he serves as a Social Media Consultant and is the host of the monthly #JASEPodcast Series. He is founding editor and publisher of the POCUSJournal.com and has a keen interest in enhancing cardiovascular ultrasound quality, research and education. @amerjohri
