Dr Rob Moss graduated with honors from the University of NSW in Australia. He trained and practiced as a general internist and intensivist before training in cardiology at the Prince Charles Hospital, the dedicated cardiovascular hospital for Queensland, Australia. He completed a fellowship in Heart Failure and Transplant, and then traveled to Vancouver where he completed a fellowship in Echocardiography. He returned to Australia and was subsequently recruited to staff at St Paul’s Hospital Vancouver in 2005, where he has worked ever since.
He is presently the Director of the Echocardiography at St. Paul’s Hospital. He is actively involved with echocardiography across Canada through the Canadian Society of Echocardiography and the Canadian Cardiovascular Society, and is a member of the American Society of Echocardiography. He has spoken at many international meetings and is widely published.
His research interests include, 3-D and procedural echocardiography, quantification of valvular regurgitation and diastolic function assessment. He has worked alongside Dr. John Webb in developing advance imaging to support and guide complex cardiac interventions including percutaneous mitral and tricuspid valve repair and replacement.
He has a keen interest in stress echocardiography and POCUS and is involved in developing Echo/POCUS outreach to rural and remote communities. He maintains a keen interest in quality in the Echo Lab.
Dr. Moss runs an office cardiology practice and attends on the cardiology consult service at St. Paul’s Hospital.
