Anne-Sophie Brazeau RD, PhD is an Assistant Professor and the Director of the dietetics education and practice program at McGill University’s School of Human Nutrition. She is a Fond recherche Québec en Santé’s research scholar. Her patient-oriented research program aims to understand the lived experience with type 1 diabetes in the context of rapid therapies and technological innovation and to empower patients with self-management. She uses mixed methods observational studies and clinical trials to enhance the understanding of the complex daily challenges that adolescents and adults with diabetes face, including diet and physical activity. She develops and tests interventions to facilitate diabetes self-management such as online self-guided education platform. She co-leads the BETTER registry (CIHR/JDRF funded), the largest type 1 diabetes registry (3500+ participants) in Canada.
