At the end of this session participants will be able to / Au terme de cette conférence, vous serez:

explain the role of echo, CT, and MRI in the assessment of aortic valve disease including aortic stenosis, regurgitation, mixed valvular disease and low flow aortic stenosis;
through interactive cases, understand and select the best imaging tests for your patient with aortic valve disease;
understand the influence of other diseases such as cardiac amyloidosis on the diagnosis and treatment of aortic valve disease; and
make better use of and understand the role of current and evolving AI based clinical frailty tools, and how they could and should influence your management of aortic valve disease.

Workshop Description: Aortic valve disease represents the most common valvular heart condition in the world. As patients age the management of aortic stenosis becomes more challenging. Frailty, comorbidities and anatomic considerations can limit therapeutic options. Transcatheter aortic valve implantation has revolutionized the management of aortic stenosis, however determining which patients are suitable and would benefit from intervention can be challenging. Conditions including low flow aortic stenosis, cardiac amyloidosis, as well as mixed valvular disease require specialized assessment and consideration. Patient factors, such as frailty, must also be understood and considered by the treating team. This workshop will focus on a case-based approach to the assessment of aortic stenosis, patient selection and frailty evaluation as well las the role of multi-modality imaging to inform management.
