learn about the different forms that databases and biobanks can take;
understand how to store and utilize large sets of data effectively;
understand how to form effective research questions to leverage databases and biobanks;
understand how to perform translational research by merging different databases; and
learn strategies to collect data efficiently.

Session Description: Databases and biobanks provide unprecedented opportunities for discovery into the causes, treatment and health services management of cardiovascular disease. This session brings together research leaders from across the country to discuss the importance of biobank research, applications in both basic and clinical science, and practical advice for aspiring research trainees on how to leverage these tools.
