Learning Objectives / Objectifs d'apprentissage:

At the end of this session participants will be able to / Au terme de cette conférence, vous serez:

know the different types of temporary MCS devices available, along with indications and contraindications to each;
know the investigations that are needed to determine suitability for each type of temporary MCS (including hemodynamic assessment, echocardiographic assessment, cath assessment);
know the differential levels of hemodynamic support provided by each type of temporary MCS; and
learn about device troubleshooting and complications for each type of temporary MCS.

Session Description: This case based session will provide an overview to the use of temporary mechanical circulatory support in cardiogenic shock and considerations in device selection.
