Globalization promotes scientific advancements, but also the spread of communicable diseases and widening of health disparities. Daily news reports of new COVID-19 variants, the spread of monkeypox, the re-emergence of polio and measles in unvaccinated populations, and the newest XDR-TB are cause for alarm for the lay public; so our role as healthcare providers for pregnant people is to share scientific knowledge and best practices for promoting public health, instead of perpetuating "fake news."
