Jazmin Miller (M.F.A.) is a filmmaker, theatre director, and artist, serving as the executive director of Carpenter Art Garden in Memphis, TN. She is two-years deep into a documentary film about her family’s land on the Mississippi River in St. James Parish, examining Black ecological legacies, ethnography, and conveyances. Jazmin is featured on episodes 8 and 9 of Monument Lab's "Plot of Land" podcast series, produced and reported by Anya Groner. Jazmin and Anya recently enjoyed a residency and collaboration at Tulane's Tina and Albert Small Center for Collaborative Design on an exhibit entitled "Extractivism", which focuses on the harsh realities of extraction. She is an informed theatre artist and advocate for racial justice and social change. Jazmin is passionate about equity, youth, and education and spends a majority of her time serving on nonprofit boards and other volunteer efforts.
