Monique has been with the City of Sugar Land for nine years and currently serves as the City’s Transportation & Mobility Innovation Manager, overseeing the Transportation & Mobility Innovation Program within the Engineering Department. During her time at the City, she has been involved in the implementation of the City’s Comprehensive Mobility Plan, Pedestrian & Bicycle Master Plan, Master Thoroughfare Plan, and is the project manager for the Sugar Land Mobility Master Plan currently in development. She serves as the City’s representative on the Houston-Galveston Area Council Transportation Advisory Committee and subcommittees.
Prior to working for the City of Sugar Land, Monique worked as a Planner with the City of Oklahoma City. While in Oklahoma City, she was involved in the development of the City’s comprehensive plan, PlanOKC, which received the Daniel Burnham Award for a Comprehensive Plan in 2018. Her focus was on planning for public health and the built environment, including food systems planning, urban agriculture, accessibility to recreational facilities, and developing design concepts for complete streets.
