Diane Sullivan is the Director of the Urban Design and Plan Review Division at the National Capital Planning Commission in Washington, DC. In this role she oversees a team of urban planners, architects, and historic preservationists who are committed to preserving and enhancing the extraordinary qualities of the National Capital Region through the review of federal master plans, projects, and memorials. Ms. Sullivan joined NCPC in 2007 and was formerly the senior urban planner in the Physical Planning Division, where she led the agency’s sustainability work and headed up the SW Ecodistrict Initiative. She previously worked on waterfront redevelopment with both the Anacostia Waterfront Corporation and the Portland (Oregon) Bureau of Planning. While a native of the west coast, she proudly considers the District home after 17 years, and loves exploring the region with her husband, two daughters, and pandemic pup, Vivi.
