Matthew Edmond, AICP, is the Assistant Director of Transportation and Long-Range Planning for the Montgomery County Planning Commission, where he has served since 2004. Frequently interacting with a wide range of planning partners, he is responsible for setting county transportation policy, analyzing technical issues, and leading strategic initiatives for the organization. Matthew also oversees the planning, design, and construction for numerous county roadway transportation initiatives and is the Executive Director of the Montgomery County Transportation Authority (MCTA), which purchases right-of-way for County-owned roads, bridges, and trails. He holds a Master of City Planning (MCP) degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Wheaton College (IL).
