Barry C Nocks, PhD, FAICP is professor emeritus and lecturer in the graduate CIty Planning program at Clemson University. He has taught at Clemson for over 44 years and currently serves on the AICP Ethics Committee. Over his career, he has made a number of presentations on ethics to the SC APA chapter and local government planning boards as well as taught ethics in planning theory and practice seminars. Dr. Nocks has servied on local planning boards for 17 years as well as serving on and chairing the Planning Accreditation Board. During his academic career at Clemson, he served as program director, associate dean and faculty member. His consulting work focused on health planning, strategic planning, comprehensive and local planning, and accreditation. He has also servied on a number of national APA and AICP committees, as well as 14 years on the Association of Collegiate Planning Board.
