Eric has been with the Montgomery County Planning Commission for thirty years. After working as both an Environmental Planner and Community Planner for fifteen years, he served as the Community Planning Assistant Manager for eleven years, and was named Manager in February 2018. He attended Shippensburg University, earning a B.S. in Public Administration, with a minor in planning, and an M.S. in Geo-environmental Studies. As the Manager for Community Planning, Eric directs the county’s Community Planning Assistance Program, overseeing ten community planners that provide planning services to thirty-five of the county’s sixty-two communities. Throughout his service as an environmental and community planner, Eric worked extensively on zoning, developing ordinances for conservation subdivision, village and town centers, the transfer of development rights, and riparian corridor protection. Eric also works directly with two of the county’s four regional planning organizations: the Indian Valley and Upper Perkiomen Valley Regional Planning Commissions.
