As Chief Planner for the City of Sandusky, Ohio, Arin Blair, AICP, oversees the Planning Division within the Department of Community Development. Her role includes long-range planning, site development, zoning and permitting staff management, special project management, policy and program development, public arts, and historic preservation. She leads cross-departmental projects in collaboration with the community, stakeholders, and elected officials to identify and implement catalytic projects on the North Coast. In her previous role as a consultant in a landscape architecture, urban design, and planning practice, Arin led planning, urban design, and community engagement projects across Ohio and the Midwest. Arin’s teaching and speaking experience includes: APA National, Ohio, and regional planning conferences; BGSU Resort Attraction And Management Program guest lecture; OSU City & Regional Planning program studio course; Camp Architecture & Design; High School Design Studio, and SORP (Society of Outdoor Recreation Professionals) National Conference. Arin holds a Bachelor of the Arts, summa cum laude, in Anthropology and a Master’s in City and Regional Planning from The Ohio State University. She currently serves on the Ohio APA Board of Trustees.
