Paul Salama, AICP is an Urban Technology Fellow and Visiting Scholar at Cornell Tech's Jacobs Urban Tech Hub. As part of the inaugural fellow class, Salama is developing models for automating and streamlining the analyses comprising environmental & impact review and permitting processes. Simultaneously, he is spearheading 3D zoning digitalization through the Open Zoning effort at Harvard GSD's Urban Stack Lab.
His work focuses on digital transformation efforts across multiple urban planning sectors, having co-founded the congestion pricing startup ClearRoad and joining the zoning automation startup Envelope as employee #1. Previously, Salama led projects in emerging urban planning topics at WXY Studio, including EV infrastructure, multi-stakeholder scenarios planning, and innovation districts, following stints at the Project for Public Spaces, the Furman Center, and Hewlett-Packard. He is driven by opportunities to enhance the city and public services in response to the climate crisis.
Salama is a Certified Planner, former Instructor of Clean Technology, and previous NYU Rudin Emerging Leadership and Urban Design Forum Fellow. He holds degrees in Urban Planning and Computer Engineering from NYU and Columbia.
