A champion of emerging innovative land uses, Sarah R. Davis has spent nearly two decades paving the way for integrating technology and sustainability into our urban, suburban, and rural fabrics. Founder and CEO of S. R. D. Consulting – Sustainable. Renewable. Driven. (SRDC), Sarah leverages her experience in the renewable energy and electric vehicle sectors to advance the clean electrification of our grid and transportation systems. Currently, SRDC is supporting a cutting edge microgrid project in Colorado and several community-scale solar projects throughout the Midwest and Northeast.
Prior to their entrepreneurial pursuits, Sarah led an interdisciplinary team as Tesla’s Market Lead for Electric Vehicle (EV) Infrastructure, developing and deploying over 500 Level 2 & direct current fast charging (DCFC) connectors throughout the US. During Sarah’s tenure, she guided the company’s overall EV charging strategy throughout the Midwest and West, worked closely with municipalities to incorporate EV charging into their land use codes, and managed partnerships with private landowners including Tesla’s largest portfolio charging partner.
Sarah has deep roots within the solar sector, building off her work as a Senior Project Planner for juwi solar, Inc. (now juwi Americas) where she led the due diligence and entitlement effort for utility-scale solar PV projects, installing over 250MW of solar nationwide. Outside of work, Sarah has held various leadership positions at the state- and national-level, including the Vice President of Communication, Professional Development Officer, and Emerging Planning Professionals Chair for the American Planning Association’s Colorado Chapter.
Sarah is a twice graduate of Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!) holding a master’s degree of Urban and Regional Planning and a bachelor’s degree in Public and Urban Affairs, Environmental Affairs. She currently serves as an advisor to the Department of Energy funded Solar@Scale initiative, is a member of the American Planning Association and the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP). Sarah teaches seminars, writes articles, and speaks regularly at urban planning, transportation, sustainability, and renewable energy conferences.
