Joshua Lathan is the City Climate Action Plan Lead at AECOM and has extensive experience in community-level climate action planning and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions analysis to help cities and organizations achieve their decarbonization goals. He has authored more than 40 climate action plans that define local emissions targets and reduction strategies and has led technical analysis for GHG inventories and forecasts to understand how emissions are likely to change in the future without further intervention. He also collaborates with AECOM colleagues to develop decision-support tools that streamline the climate action planning process, including the CURB emissions scenario planning tool developed for the World Bank, C40 Cities, and Bloomberg Philanthropies, and the Action Selection and Prioritisation (ASAP) tool for C40 Cities. A sample of his decarbonization work includes the cities of Miami, Baltimore, Dallas, Long Beach, Palo Alto, Chicago, Los Angeles, Quito, and MedellĂn; Montgomery County, MD; and public agencies including the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and the Los Angeles County Public Works Department.
