Carol Fraser (they/them) is the US Business Development Lead and Consultant for Sustainability Solutions Group. An urban planner with a decade of experience assisting cities, businesses, and organizations in achieving their sustainable economic development goals, and a graduate of McGill University (BA German Studies and East Asian Studies) and the University of Texas at Austin School of Architecture (MSc Community and Regional Planning, and MSc Sustainable Design), Carol brings an interdisciplinary lens to climate action planning.
Carol's work has focused on the intersection of sustainability, food systems, and economic development. Among other projects, Carol has led the development of a city-wide strategy for the use of federal pandemic relief money to address food insecurity; supported implementation of an equity-focused healthy corner stores program; optimized municipal waste reporting systems for businesses; and researched policies implementing mobile home parks and gentrification in San Antonio, TX. At SSG, Carol is contributing to projects examining state-level decarbonization strategies for Washington and Oregon, as well as climate action implementation in the City of Denton, TX and Bellingham, WA.
