Mike has over 20 years of experience leading a wide range of consulting projects in transportation planning, mobility on demand (MOD), data science, and demand forecasting. Mike is currently leading the Flexible Fleets Implementation Plan for SANDAG in San Diego, which is utilizing travel demand and market assessment tools to identify areas for SANDAG to implement microtransit, micromobility, rideshare, and carshare pilot programs. Mike is also leading several data science initiatives at Kimley-Horn that include developing a web-based tool “Access2Opportunity”, which utilizes open-source geospatial data and technologies to analyze transportation accessibility and equity.
Prior to joining Kimley-Horn, Mike led the Logistics & Planning team at Lyft, which provided strategic planning, traffic engineering, and product support to rideshare and bicycle/scooter operations at cities, airports, and major venues and events. At Lyft, Mike led the development of operational dashboards that measured curb congestion and the creation of rideshare forecasts for airport facilities. In previous consulting roles, Mike has led initiatives with clients such as Stanford University and Google to help them develop innovative transportation demand management (TDM) and infrastructure strategies that incorporate a combination of transit strategies, new mobility services, and pricing into their short and long-range planning processes.
