Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation
Pendleton, Oregon
Dani Schulte, AICP, is the Transportation Planner for the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation (CTUIR) in Northeastern Oregon, and a descendant of the Oglala Lakota people. She has worked as a professional planner for 5 years in the CTUIR Tribal Planning Office. She graduated with a Master of Urban & Regional Planning degree from Portland State University in 2018, and a Portland State University Bachelor of Arts with dual majors in Spanish Language & Literature and International Development in 2014. Prior to her career in Planning, she worked in freight electrification, digital access equity, and sustainable food systems development. She collaborates with other state, county, and local road jurisdictions to creatively apply best practices often considered "urban" to rural and Tribal transportation systems. She enjoys hiking with her husband, toddler and German Shepherd; and knitting with her cat on her lap (even though he occasionally steals her yarn).
