Ryan has spent more than 15 years as community organizer, policy advisor, and project manager with positions in both the private and public sectors. Prior to joining the Harris County Flood Control District as the Resilience Division Manager, Ryan served in the Houston Mayor's Office of Recovery where he leveraged the disaster recovery process to advance Resilient Hosuton and Houston's Climate Action Plan. Ryan has worked with federal, state, and local agencies across the United States helping to navigate the disaster recovery process with a focus on future resilience. Ryan is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Houston’s Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture and Design where he almost saved the Houston Astrodome.
