Jaime Lees is the Chief Data Officer in Arlington County, Virginia. She is responsible for ethically and innovatively leveraging the County’s data assets, with particular attention to superior service delivery and e-use of administrative data for the public good. Jaime believes everyone is, or can be, a data professional and sees her role as helping organizations realize their employees’ data potential for the benefit of their customers. She launched the County’s first open data portal (data.arlingtonva.us) which has facilitated staff and constituent discovery and use of anonymized and aggregated data and serves as a staple resource during budget and other key planning sessions. She serves as the County’s data privacy risk subject matter expert and has recently introduced Countywide privacy principles, a privacy risk management toolkit and staff training. Jaime loves to write, make lists, and grow her own vegetables.
